School enrolment ceremony at the iDSB

Last Saturday, the big day finally arrived: our new Year 1 pupils, together with their families, embarked on a very special new chapter in their lives.

The first day of school began with a joint service at the German-speaking parish in Brussels. Afterwards, everyone made their way to the primary school, where the children were given a warm welcome. Of course, the lovingly filled school goody bags and school bags were a must.

A special moment was when they first explored their new classrooms. Here, the Year 1 pupils were able to get a taste of school life and gain a first impression of what awaits them in the coming weeks: learning to read, write and do arithmetic, making new friends and discovering lots of exciting things together.

Meanwhile, parents and families had time to meet, chat and catch up on the school grounds whilst enjoying snacks and cold drinks. A heartfelt thank you goes to our Year 2 classes and all the helpers whose dedication contributed to making this such a lovely first day at school.
