+++ Apply now for the iDSB scholarship programme (High School and Technical Secondary School)!+++Happy holidays, dear students
after six weeks of school closure, the cautious step towards a gradual opening of the schools is now imminent. Many questions and concerns are articulated, they are all taken seriously and answered in the best possible way.
I would like to thank you very much for your patience and also for your support of your children in learning from home. I am now looking forward to taking the first steps towards everyday school life together with our students and teachers.
In the coming weeks we will now start a new phase. It will be necessary to redesign learning processes and places. There will be phases of learning at home and phases of learning at school. However, a ramp-up to "normal operation" with regular classes will not be realistically possible until the summer holidays. Nevertheless, we set ourselves the goal and create the prerequisites for students to consolidate and expand their competencies even under the current conditions.
Parallel to "learning at home" we are gradually starting to resume teaching in our school. This gives your children the opportunity to get back in direct contact with their teachers, discuss tasks and answer questions. Furthermore, your children can be provided directly with learning plans, tasks and materials for "learning at home".
One of the biggest challenges for resuming face-to-face teaching will be to ensure that your children keep their social contacts at a distance. This will involve organisational changes to the previous and familiar school routine. Both your children and our teachers will take part in training sessions on the hygiene and safety concept, which you can find in the appendix.
The restart of the school will take place grade by grade. First of all, a test run is carried out at school for each class in order to instruct the pupils about the new school day and to teach them about the safety measures to be observed.
A short overview of the starting dates:
Further detailed information about the timetable of the classes as well as the course of the lessons will be sent to you separately.
I am looking forward to the gradual opening of our school and I am sure that together we will master the challenges of the coming weeks. I am firmly convinced that together we will succeed!
With best regards,
Yours Bettina Biste
