Powering through Mobility Week with pedal power and enthusiasm
As part of Brussels Mobility Week (16–23 September), our school community also made a contribution to sustainable mobility. In their general studies lessons, the pupils discussed their journeys to school and were encouraged to come to school on foot, by bike, by scooter, by bus or by train. Many children were really keen and now want to cycle to school every day. At the end of the week, there was an obstacle course in the school playground where the primary pupils could show off their skills.
Another highlight of the week was the trips on the Veloctobus – a bus on wheels that only moves when everyone pedals hard. These buses are the latest example of sustainable mobility and drive through Wezembeek with great enthusiasm, carrying cheerfully waving children. The Year 1 pupils would love to travel all the way to America in them.
