Standing ovations for ‘Blutwig and Lulu’

With plenty of humour, music and great enthusiasm, the pupils of the GS Music Theatre delighted the audience this week with their performance of the musical “Blutwig and Lulu”. The amphitheatre was almost full to capacity, and the audience rewarded the young performers with a long round of applause at the end.

The story of the young vampire Blutwig, who prefers beetroot juice to blood, provided excellent entertainment from the very first minute. Whilst his family desperately tries to set him on the ‘proper’ vampire path, Blutwig finds a friend in Lulu, who is herself struggling with her own challenges. Together, the two discover the unifying power of music – and in doing so, show just how important courage, friendship and being different can be.

With impressive stage presence, lively songs and plenty of humour, the children brought this varied story to life. At times there was hearty laughter, at others the audience was on the edge of their seats, and time and again the cast impressed with their skill and enthusiasm.

Special thanks go to all the pupils, Ms Anne Breuer, Ms Annika Brenner and the many helpers behind the scenes, who contributed to the success of this performance with great dedication.
