Young adult author Stepha Quitterer visits iDSB

The students in Years 4 and 5 of the primary and secondary school had a special literary experience in the auditorium of the iDSB: Berlin-based children’s author Stepha Quitterer delighted her young audience with a lively reading from two of her books.

She presented excerpts from ‘Pepe und der Oktopus auf der Flucht vor der Müllmafia’ (Pepe and the Octopus on the Run from the Garbage Mafia), which was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize in 2024, as well as from her newly published novel ‘Freiheit für die Waldwiese’ (Freedom for the Forest Meadow). With freely recited passages and great expressiveness, the author quickly captivated the children.

Afterwards, Stepha Quitterer answered numerous questions from the pupils and then took time for personal conversations, autographs and signed books. The reading was a special experience for many children and showed how exciting and lively literature can be.
