International History Bee & Bowl – Returning in 2026!

After a highly successful inaugural year, we are delighted to announce that the International History Bee and Bowl of Benelux is returning to the International German School of Brussels on Saturday, 7 February 2026.

Following the strong participation and positive feedback in 2025, the tournament continues to grow and attract increasing international attention. This year, we are especially excited to welcome a school from Luxembourg and another all the way from Lithuania! This expansion highlights the growing profile of the Benelux tournament as a truly international academic event.

For those who are new to the event, the International History Bee & Bowl is a fast-paced, buzzer-based history competition conducted entirely in English. Open to students of all experience levels, it offers an engaging and intellectually challenging environment that promotes critical thinking, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation of global history. Top-performing students and teams will qualify for the European Championships, which will take place in Berlin in mid-2026.

Registration information

• Registration for the History Bee can be completed individually by students directly via the competition website.
• If your child wishes to compete on a History Bowl team, please contact Rob Varty at rob.varty@idsb.eu so that teams can be organised and registered accordingly.

Preparation

There are resources and study guides available at ihbbeurope.com and students can join mock quiz
sessions in the OS library on Tuesdays in the lunch break.
