    22. to 26. September 2025

    Regensburger Domspatzen

    The Regensburger Domspatzen grammar school, one of our partner schools in Germany, is sending almost 40 singers from year 11 to Brussels in September. They will give a musical taster, take part in lessons and explore Brussels’ culture with the iDSB music course. Finally, they organise a workshop with upper school classes and primary school children and present the results.

    iDSB fall flea market

    At the annual iDSB fall flea market, books, toys and much more can be bought and sold at individual stands. Children’s clothes, baby carriages, bicycles, child seats and much more are offered in our clothes exchange. A visit is worthwhile! You can get more information by e-mail from: flohmarkt@idsb.eu.

    Week in German

    As part of the “Week in German” event, pupils from 5th to 10th grade from other schools in Belgium can immerse themselves in German school life for a day at the iDSB, get to know the language and culture and take part in an exclusive German lesson.

    Mona-Lisa Theatre

    Curtain up for the Mona-Lisa-Theatre of the iDSB colleagues: Look forward to an entertaining evening in which the teaching staff and the administrative team slip into other roles and provide the best entertainment on stage with humour, charm and completely new sides!

    Sankt Martin – Lantern procession

    The KiBi and the primary school invite all children and families of the KiBi and the first classes to the lantern parade on Thursday, 09.11.2023. We start at 17:00 in the primary school playground! Our festival committee will provide all young and old participants with drinks and delicious snacks. We look forward to many shining lanterns!

    Memorial Day

    On 11 November, the iDSB commemorates the Armistice and the end of the First World War together with surrounding schools in Wezembeek-Oppem. In Belgium, a central theatre of the conflict, this day has a special significance. Participation is close to our hearts as it is a sign of reconciliation and shared remembrance.

    Commemoration of the victims of the world wars in Lommel

    Every year in November, a commemoration ceremony is held in Lommel to mark Remembrance Day. Lommel is located in the east of Belgium, just before the border with the Netherlands and a few kilometers from Eindhoven. It is home to the largest German military cemetery in Western Europe, where almost 40,000 fallen soldiers are buried.

    It has already become a tradition for iDSB students to enrich this very moving event at the military cemetery there with a musical or literary contribution. In addition to the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Belgium, other high-ranking officials such as the British and Dutch ambassadors are also present.

    iDSB art show

    Clear the stage for the year 12 art course! Here, specially designed models and fashion creations are presented to an enthusiastic audience. Pupils in years 5 to 11 present their work on a theme to be determined for the year in the impressive accompanying art exhibition.

    iDSB christmas market

    Look forward with us to our atmospheric Christmas market with a wide range of Christmas cookies, Advent wreaths and other high-quality handicrafts with live Christmas performances by our school band and various choir ensembles.

    iDSB christmas concert

    Before many families set off to spend Christmas with relatives and friends, we invite you to a special musical journey of discovery: At the traditional Christmas concert, young and old artists from all year groups will perform and make the evening a glamorous start to the festive season.

    Foyer talk with Nela Riehl – “The first year in parliament”

    Nela Riehl was elected to the European Parliament in June 2024 as one of the three VOLT MEPs from Germany. On this evening, Nela will be available to answer questions from the students of the social studies courses about political work in Brussels. What does the everyday life of an MEP look like? What issues did she deal with in her first few months? What influence does a small party with only five MEPs have?

    The audience can look forward to an entertaining evening and experience politics at first hand!

    Zirkuswoche an der iDSB

    In March, it’s ‘Clear the ring for our iDSB children’ again. The tent of the Casselly project circus opens its doors and all children from primary school and year 5 can take part. On five mornings, our pupils will work for two hours each with a pedagogically trained team on various circus topics. The programme includes juggling, magic, acrobatics and small animal dressage. The highlight of the circus week is the gala performance.

    Questions for Mr Ambassador Kotthaus

    We are starting the new school year with a very special Q&A session. Pupils from Years 4 and 9 will ask German Ambassador Martin Kotthaus their personal questions, e.g: How does an ambassador work? The audience can look forward to an exciting look behind the political scenes. The event is open to the public.
